He emphasizes reading, technique, and music theory as essential skills that pave the way for students to become independent learners. As a performer himself, Matt encourages and prepares his students to play for family, friends, and in recitals, so that they can enjoy performing with confidence.
Matt loves giving his students the opportunity to play music that’s fun, engaging, and current. In addition to classical repertoire, he also teaches composition, jazz, and popular music, and regularly arranges the newest pop songs for his students to play.
