Payment Options
We understand that enrollment involves a serious investment of time and money. Please read on to learn more about the options we offer for lesson payment.

Please note: For all school-age students, payment is due upfront, before lessons are scheduled to take place. This helps us ensure that our valued instructors are paid promptly for their time.

Full Year
Tuition for the school year is paid in full before the beginning of the Fall Semester.

Semester Installments
Tuition for each semester is paid in full before the beginning of each semester.

Monthly Installments
We also offer monthly installments for semester payments, with each month of lessons paid upfront at the start of each month, on a case by case basis. You can inquire at info@keystosuccessnyc.com.

Late Payment Policy
Lesson payments must be made by the Due Date indicated on your invoice. A late fee of $50 will automatically be applied to your account 7 days after the Due Date. Accounts found delinquent by 14 days or more will no longer be able to receive lessons until balance is paid.

Forms of Payment
We accept credit card or ACH payments via our Student Portal, as well as payment via Zelle, check, or cash.

Please note that credit card payments incur a 3% processing fee.

Withdrawal
Families who wish to withdraw a student must notify the front desk via email.

Our staff will contact you regarding your request. Every withdrawal situation is different, and Keys To Success will work to find an adequate and rapid solution to each case.

Students may withdraw at any time during the semester for a credit or refund, so long as notice of withdrawal is given at least two weeks before the next scheduled lesson.

Credits
Credits for private lessons are active for six months from the date the credits are issued. Registration and late payment fees are non-refundable. There is no additional fee associated with credited withdrawals.

Refunds
Families may choose to be issued a refund for their remaining lessons. Keys To Success will withhold the cost of lessons that have already transpired, including student absences, as well as a fee equal to the cost of 2 additional lessons from the date that withdrawal is confirmed.

Medical Withdrawals
Keys To Success approves medical withdrawals on a case by case basis. Basis for withdrawal includes injuries or illnesses that genuinely impede a student’s ability to successfully participate in their musical instruction.
To request a medical withdrawal, please notify the front desk with a doctor's note. Medical withdrawals will be issued lesson credits or a refund, in keeping with the same policies outlined above for general withdrawals.

Make-up Policy

By registering for one-on-one lessons, students commit to a consistent schedule with their instructor. We ask that all families adhere to their set schedules out of respect to our instructors and their other students. Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons and to give as much notice as possible when a cancellation is necessary.

Excused Absences
Students are entitled to 2 make-up lessons for excused absences each semester. No additional make-up credits will be given, except in the case of teacher absences.

An excused absence requires notice given by no later than 8:00 PM the evening prior via email or phone call.

Same-day cancellations will be excused only in the case of student illness or verified emergencies. In the case of a non-emergency same-day cancellation, notice must still be given to the office by 11:00 AM for weekday lessons or 8:00 AM for Saturday lessons.

Unexcused Absences
All lessons canceled with inadequate notice per the parameters outlines above will be considered unexcused and will be charged in full, with no make-up credit issued.

Make-up Lessons
Families are expected to schedule their make-up lessons directly with the instructor unless otherwise indicated by front desk staff.
Any scheduled make-up lessons that are canceled by the student without proper notice cannot be rescheduled or credited.
Make-ups must be completed by the end of semester or they will be forfeited.
The school schedule is cleared for one week at the end of each semester. Teachers and families are encouraged to use this Make-up Week to schedule any outstanding make-up lessons.

Online Lessons
In the event that a student or teacher needs to cancel an in-person lesson due to inclement weather or a mild but contagious illness, families have the option to choose that the lesson will instead be conducted online.

Tardiness
Missed lesson time due to student tardiness is not eligible for make-up credits.
If a student arrives late, instructors are only obligated to teach until the lesson’s scheduled endpoint. Teachers are not obligated to stay for a lesson if a student is more than 15 minutes late.
If an instructor is late by 10 minutes or more, they will be obligated to make up the lesson at a later date. Missed lesson time due to faculty tardiness will be made up at a mutually convenient time, per our general make-up policy.

School Policies

We are proud of the safe and productive learning environment we have cultivated at Keys To Success, and we rely on students and families to help us maintain that standard. Thank you in advance for adhering to the following policies.

Lobby Etiquette
Keys To Success serves many students and their families, and during peak after-school hours the lobby can be busy, especially when the weather is bad.

Our lobby is a place where students and caregivers can wait for their lessons, not a lounge space or a playground.
To ensure that seating and space are available to as many of our clients as possible, and to ensure that our admin and teaching staff are best able to do their work, please:

-
Avoid coming to lessons very early or staying very late afterwards.
-
Wear headphones if you are going to listen to phone audio.
-
Avoid loud conversations while you are in the space.
-
Take any phone conversations longer than five minutes outside.
-
Watch any young children that may be in your care.
Children will be encouraged to use their "inside voices" in the lobby. If you know that you will be managing care for a high-energy child while one of your students has a lesson, we encourage you to take them to the nearby playground or one of the surrounding area's many wonderful shops.
Please be advised that Keys To Success staff cannot be held responsible for the loss or theft of any strollers, scooters, or other items left on the street outside of our premises.

Hand-washing
For the safety of our staff and other students, we ask that all students wash their hands before lessons.

Sickness
Please do not send a student to their lesson if they have a contagious illness or are otherwise incapacitated. If a student is unable to participate in their lesson or they are found to pose a health risk to teachers and staff, they will be sent home.

Client Etiquette
In the event that a student is unable or unwilling to participate in lessons, caregiver(s) will be notified and may be asked to pick up the student. Instructors and staff are in no way obligated to tolerate disrespect or abuse from students or their families, and extreme behavior may result in a discontinuation of services.

Travel and Student Safety
Please be advised that Keys To Success does not offer pick-up or drop-off services. Parents are responsible for ensuring that students are safely transported to and from their lessons.

Parental Involvement in Lessons
A quiet and interruption-free environment is required for each teacher to have one-on-one lessons with their students. Parents are welcome to observe the first lesson. After that point, we ask that you wait to check in with your student's teacher once they are done with their lesson.
