Katherine Chernyak - Violin Instructor at Keys To Success

Violinist/Violist Katherine Chernyak is currently based in New York City, studying at the Juilliard school. An alum of Bard College and Conservatory, she has performed in venues around the United States, China, and Europe. She is passionate about education and has been teaching for the past 3 years, specifically with age groups 7-15.
Katherine taught locally in the Hudson Valley and was a member of Bard Conservatory’s Music Mentorship Initiative, teaching children virtually in Kenya. In 2024, Katherine worked with the Sphinx Organization and the National Orchestral Institute to provide free lessons and chamber coachings to youths (13-17) from marginalized communities in the Maryland/D.C. area.
Katherine has been assistant concertmaster and principal viola of the Bard Conservatory Orchestra and concertmaster of ensembles like the Bard Baroque Ensemble— leading their debuts at Fisher Center and in the Next Generation Festival at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in spring 2025–, and the East West Ensemble, performing in the China Now Festival at Carnegie Hall, as well as joining their first tour to China.
Katherine believes in connecting different forms of art, playing in unique settings like the Rohmer Gallery or the National Gallery of Art in DC, and has worked with the Innovation Studio at the University of Maryland to create performances that engage and interact with audiences.
