Mark Hale - Drum Instructor at Keys To Success
Mark Hale is a New York based Jazz Drummer + Educator. Originally from London, he relocated to New York in 2025 to study for his Master's Degree in Jazz Performance + Composition. He received his Batchelors of Music from The Academy of Contemporary Music (Guildford, UK) which provided him with his versatility, technical proficency and a deep appreciation of Contemporary music ranging from Rock, Funk and Soul to Jazz, Bossa Nova, Pop and Musical Theatre.
As an Educator, Mark has a passion for sharing his knowledge and his own positive experiences of learning music. With over 10 years of experience teaching he has taught Privately, In Primary and Secondary Schools, as an Ensemble instructor for Percussion and Rock Bands as well as being part of small teams delivering workshops on Jazz in Schools.
Mark has taught Children from ages 5 up to 18 as well as Adult learners of all ages. Prepared students for Graded exams and School Recitals.
His philosophy is built around understanding and grasping the fundamentals of playing the Drum Set, exploring creativity and of course having fun!
As a performer, Mark is an established musician on the London Jazz scene, performing across the city at Venues including; Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Pizza Express Jazz Club, The Vortex Jazz Club and Cadogan Hall's Lunchtime Jazz Series. He has also been a key promotional figure with setting up his own Jazz nights including 'Monday Night Jazz at The White Horse' (Bedford, UK) and Jazz at Walthamstow Trades Hall in East London, bringing Jazz to a wider audience across London and Bedford.
