KTS Internal Testing -- Sunday June 5th
We would like to let you know that we will be holding our annual KTS Testing on Sunday, June 5th.
What is KTS Testing?
Over the years, some of our students have participated in standardized testing such as the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) exams. We would like to make this experience accessible to more of our students by creating a test that follows our curriculum and the material covered in a semester during lessons at Keys To Success.
We hope that by offering this test that students and parents will have a better understanding of their progress.
It has also been an invaluable resource to our students and families looking for more feedback on their progress, especially for those preparing for high school applications and auditions.
Is it Required? This test is 100% optional. There is no requirement that a student participate in a KTS Test.
What is the fee? $25 per student
How are Students Tested? It will be 12-15 minutes in length and administered by a KTS faculty member who is not your child's teacher.
Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate the following from this semester's curriculum:
A memorized Piece
A memorized piece
For the students who will be participating in the testing, teachers will incorporate the requirements onto their Goal Sheet at the beginning of the semester.
The test is not designed to place additional pressure on the student, but to demonstrate strengths and areas of growth that will inform parents and teachers on what to celebrate and what to work on in the following semester.
Our hope is that this testing will be an additional opportunity for students to work towards a new goal and allow both students and parents to see the student's progress through the curriculum at the end of a given semester.
